Since 2013, she has been serving as a faculty member at Fortis College in Centerville, Ohio, working within their ADN Program.

In addition to holding a certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Porothea holds a CPR certificate.  

A Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. FNPs maintain patient records, perform physical exams, order or perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, as well as treat acute and chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries that fall under primary care.
